Social problems such as the environmental issues are getting more complex and could no longer be solved by merely the strength or will of any single actors. It requires a systemic approach, participation, and cross-sector collaboration among all stakeholders. In this context, the government and foundation’s active participation and co-creation within the solutioning process plays a pivotal role in effecting a systemic change for Hong Kong’s future.

Hong Kong Sustainability Jam 2012 is such a platform that provided an effective and efficient multi-stakeholders engagement, where you will:

• Be the pioneer to embrace the best practice and global trend of using innovation methodologies to co-create solutions within government or with multiple stakeholders towards pressing social issues, as demonstrated from the success of worldwide “GOV JAM 2012”, organized by the Department of Industry Innovation, Science and Research of Australian Government.

• Try a new approach to collaborate in teams with visionary, passionate and selected leading figures in the environmental sustainability field (across NGOs, academia, industry, professionals etc.) to co-create innovative solutions towards HK’s pressing environmental issue.

• Communicate with different stakeholders to understand their needs and how solutions are developed through the innovation process, in order to better provide the right policies, funding and supporting environment to inculcate positive change.

• Bring back the innovation methodologies to your organization to increase the efficiency and capacity of cross departmental, disciplines, and innovative problem solving as well as multi-stakeholders engagement.

• Exposure of government or foundation’s dedication to creating breakthrough opportunities for environmental change beyond the individual sector

• Spend just 1 in 52 weekends having serious fun and co-creating the NEXT BIG IDEAS. It will be a fruitful learning and unforgettable experience to attend the full JAM in action.

*  In case you are not available for the full event, you are welcomed to be part of the opening ceremony (on Friday night), and/ or be the panel of judges during our final jam project presentation (on Sunday evening).
